Laser Hair Removal Cost (Is Removing Your Hair With Laser Really Worth The Price?)
Laser Hair Removal: Is it Worth The Cost?
An average laser hair removal session costs a few hundred dollars. (According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average price in the United States is $429.) When you consider that you will need to have several sessions to really experience the benefits, you may come to the conclusion that this procedure is definitely not for you. However, if you just imagine having baby-like silky-smooth skin, and never having to worry about waxing, shaving, or hair removal in the desired area again - then the price for the procedure may not seem so bad after all.
So, let's look at the pricing for the laser procedure
It certainly is not cheap to have your hair removed with a laser. In all honesty, I have not done it myself, although sometimes I thought about it, especially during the summer months.
While for most people removing their hair with a laser is cost prohibitive,
you should consider that a few sessions of laser treatments will save
you hundreds hours spent in your own bathroom with a razor or epilator, removing the unwanted
hair. Or perhaps waxing (ouch!). Plus the annoyance and embarrassment when you forget to shave or
wait too long between your shaving sessions. It happened to me at least a couple of times, at the beach or in a doctor's office. Perhaps at some other occasions too, but I don't want to talk about them here ;-).
If you consider all these
factors, some of you may find the expense of laser hair treatment if not cheap, then certainly reasonable.
Pricing for this procedure varies depending of the size of the area being
treated and its location (face, back, bikini line, legs), how much hair you have, how thick it is, and other factors.
Below
I give you some sample prices to give you an idea what you should be expected to spend.
Here are some estimates of how much it would cost to have your hair
removed using laser technology: Facial hair removal - $350 - $600;
Bikini line - between $350 and $600; Back - between $600 and $1000;
Upper and lower legs - $600 to $850; Arms - between $350 to $500; Under
arms - between $200 to $350; Chest - between $350 and $600.
Keep in mind that these these numbers are for one session. To
experience the full benefit of the procedure, you will need at least a
few sessions. In special situations when laser
hair removal is not recommended (because of certain medical conditions,
such as, lupus or diabetes), you may be referred to an electrolysis
practice or, if that's not an option either, there are also some
quite effective temporary hair removal treatments or even home laser hair removal treatments that you can do yourself at
home.
